If you’re having trouble finding stuff on a search engine, try these search tips to get better results

  • Use two or three words that describe exactly what you want for example, Ancient Rome
  • Leave out words like; the, and, a, how, where, why
  • Always check your spelling
  • Use speech marks when you search for a phrase, e.g.Olympic games”
  • Add + before very important words, e.g. Olympics +history

Decide what information you need to find on your topic

  • Brainstorm what you already know
  • Make a concept map to organise your ideas
  • Write questions to find the information you need
  • Choose some keywords from your questions to help you find information
